Meeting Summary for May 1, 2026

The North Saddle Creek Business Improvement District (BID) board met on May 1 to continue planning for a busy summer season and address ongoing district priorities.

Summer Kickoff Event Taking Shape
Planning is underway for a community kickoff event, now being considered for mid-July (tentatively July 17, 6–9 PM) to allow more time for coordination. The event is expected to feature local food vendors, live music, family-friendly activities, and a possible beer garden with appropriate security in place.

The BID is reaching out to local businesses and partners to participate, sponsor, and help bring the event to life. Promotion efforts will include media outreach, radio, signage, and other community channels. Event branding, including a logo and T-shirts, is also in development.

Keeping the District Clean and Maintained
Trash service remains a key priority. The BID is coordinating with the City of Omaha to establish regular pickup service and exploring short-term solutions to address current needs.

Strengthening Communication & Partnerships
The board continues to work on improving communication and transparency, including publishing meeting agendas and strengthening its presence on the City of Omaha website. Outreach to city officials is ongoing to ensure alignment with expectations and support.

Looking Ahead
The BID is forming a subcommittee focused on business engagement to strengthen connections with both district and nearby businesses and encourage broader participation in district initiatives.
